The Wine Company sells top-quality wine kits from around the world. The store was opened in Fraser Valley in 1998 and has a proven track record of success. It is located in high traffic strip mall next to major business draws such as Save-On-Foods, Tim Hortons and several other major food franchise outlets.

Services

The Wine Company supplies wine kits that are comparable to retail brands sold in liquor stores. With many types of 4, 5 and 6-week wines, there is a flavour and price range for every wine lover. With the Wine Company’s kits, $4-$6 bottles of wine can be made that are comparable to a $17-$20 bottle of commercial store bought wine.

Management

One of the current owners is willing to stay in the business for up to three years to ensure a smooth transition for a new owner. The current owners have recently hired an experienced manager, and this person is training to run all operations within the store.

Assets

The Wine Company is located at a high traffic location in the most populous zone in Chilliwack, and the current lease is in place until 2014. This lease is included in the sale.

Industry

The Canadian wine industry is becoming a globally recognized producer of quality kit wines. On-premise wine making operations are competing with the domestic and international wine market in Canada and are able to offer comparable quality, convenience and savings. It is estimated that 80 percent of the wine market has not tried home-made wine; with the industry still in its infant stages the potential for growth is excellent.
